Chapter 135
Elara
“I brought your food.” I said softly, knocking on the door. I got no response. I huffed in frustration staring at the tray of food in my hand, and some toiletries. It’s been two days and Kaiden hadn’t eaten, nor had he stepped out of the room. Each time they brought over his food, he never attempts to eat them and simply left it lying outside the door. I volunteered to take it to him.
“I’m going to stand here to you open the door.” I added loudly, raising my feet to look through the hole in the door.
“What do you think you’re doing?” I jumped in fear when a voice spoke behind me. I spun around to see Ashton.
“You scared the shit out of me.” I snapped, punching his chest playful but he didn’t seem to be in the mood
“What are you doing?” He repeated more intensely, looking at the tray in my hand.
“I brought him food.” I explained, nodding to the door. He scowled at me, clenched the fist.
“So it’s true.” He said suddenly, with a grimace.
I scrunched my face in confusion, staring at him. “What’s true?”
“When they said you’ve lost your sanity to a werewolf, I didn’t believe it.” He growled, chuckling in anger.
Was that the rumors that went around the house? I should have noticed they whispers around me. But I was mostly in the
hut to have sense it.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I responded nonchalantly.
“You do!” He countered, stepping closer to me in an predatory manner. “Is that why you don’t spare me a glance anymore?” He accused, daring me to deny it.
I was taken aback by his accusation. Ashton was my childhood crush, but as I grew up, those feelings dissipated into thin air. Yes, we shared a night before, but that had just been it. No strings attached.
“You’re losing your mind.” I retorted, rolling my eyes.
“Is he that good looking?” He continued, jealousy shining bright in his eyes, “I’m certain he doesn’t look better than I do.” He said smugly.
I couldn’t help but laugh. Ashton was handsome, but he couldn’t hold a cup to Kaiden even in his disheveled state. Kaiden was on a different level. He was the definition of perfection.
“No, you are not.” I countered with a sly smile, “You would look like a monster standing with him.”
He slammed his fist on the door angrily, “You are bluffing.” He snarled with a look of disbelief.
My lips curved in a sly smile, “How about you find out for yourself?” I thought, spinning round and banging on the door heavily.
“Open the door, Kaiden.” I yelled, with a the continuously thud on the door. My fist hung on the air when the door suddenly flew opened.
“You’re fucking persistent.” He growled weakly. I swallowed staring at this shirtless body. He was only wearing a briefs.
“What do you want, little witch?” He asked with stink eyes. I blinked my eyes, recovering my thirst. I spun around staring at Ashton with a smug smile.

“Have you confirmed your curiosity?” I asked with smugness. It felt nice bragging off about something. I wasn’t worried about Ashton telling everyone about my new ‘infatuation. He wouldn’t dare cause it would hurt his pride. He shot me a glare before turning on his heels and storming off. I grinned at his disappearing figure.
“It must have been nice talking about me.” Kaiden remarked drawing my attention back to him. My cheeks redden in slight embarrassment, but I masked it with indifference, pushing past him aside and walking into the room with the tray.
“I brought your food.” I informed setting the tray on the table.
“Get out.” He growled in response, pointing to the door, “I can’t stand the sight of you.”
“Why do you hate me so much?” I asked with tightness in my chest. “Is this because of our first encounter?”
“First encounter? I hate everything about your kind.” He spat with venom.
“Why?” I enquired with fake calmness, locking gaze with his.
“Because your kind are deceptive. I became a bigger monster all because of your kind.” His eyes reddened in hatred. What was he talking about?
“I don’t-“I started, cutting my self off when his episode began again. He groaned falling on the floor. I stuck to my position staring at him with wide eyes as he tugged on his hair. He coughed violently, his eyes turning a dark shade of blue.
“Kaiden.” I mumbled, recovering from my shock.
I darted towards him, falling to ground level. His eyes were closed as though trying to calm his nerves. I didn’t know what to do as he kept rolling his neck round in pain. His eyes fluttered open the second my hands made contact with his face. The
broke me. hatred that flashed in his eyes
“I’m just trying to help.” I stated in frustration, but he didn’t respond and for a minute it seemed the hatred faded.
“Get away from me, Elara.” He roared angrily, startling me. I fell back, scooting away from the fury in his eyes. He’s under a curse–pain circle curse, but he didn’t seem to care. He was more concern about keeping me away from him.
His face tightened in pain, and his body vibrated in fury. Suddenly, he fell to the floor–unconscious. I shook his body violently, but he remained static. He was burning up just like the other day.
You may not want my help, but I have decided to help, and you can’t stop me.
I thought with a shrewd smile staring at his body with admiration.
I didn’t have a well devised plan on how to convince Evie, but I knew for a fact that the curse will be broken.
