Genevieve wanted me to learn about the Covenstead which was why I was assigned to the hut where we sold plants to humans who dropped by. She was all about protecting our lineage, and I was much happier doing nothing. What I hadn’t expected was to meet an infuriating, yet handsome man.

I didn’t quite know what it was about the intruder, and why I was drawn to hitn. After seeing him pass out, I felt a tightness in my heart and a need to save him from what was tormenting him. But I wasn’t strong.
“You’re awake,” I beamed with a wide smile. He blinked slowly, arching his eyes to the side.
“Aurora.” He muttered, staring at Genevieve with an intense gaze. I swallowed the lump in my throat staring elsewhere. He didn’t spare a glance after pleading on his behalf. He wouldn’t be here in the first place if I hadn’t convinced Genevieve.
“Call me that again and you’ll regret it.” Genevieve snarled in anger, clenching her fist.
“And I thought I was the one with the temper.” He chuckled teasingly, unfazed by her anger.
“Are you okay?” I asked in concern, studying his face. It was a surprise he wasn’t dead. He had been in so much pain, and right now he was just fine?
He slowly turned his eyes to me, finally noticing my presence. “I’m fine, little witch.” He said dismissively, spinning back his head to Genevieve.
He seem to hate me, but why? I maybe overbearing sometimes, but it was mostly when I’m in a bad mood. Was he holding a grudge against me cause of our first encounter?
I had been pissed with Genevieve for assigning me to the hut again, and he just happened to come around that time. He acted suspicious and needed to have my guard up. I simply planned to force him out when I called the soldiers, until he ran into the portal setting off an warning alarm in my brains.
“How did you find this place?” Genevieve asked in an authoritative voice, sitting on the chair.
“As I said earlier, I saw a sign post that read ‘Dark Coast‘ and I drove through.” He explained curtly, shrugging over.
Genevieve stared at him in contempt. She didn’t believe him,neither did I. No one had ever found the forest, and he did just like that?
“You don’t believe me.” He stated with a gleam in his
eyes.
“Of course I don’t.” Genevieve scoffed, crossing her arms with a stern expression. “Where are you hiding the other beasts?” She pressed In paranoia.
“I’m a cursed wolf, Aurora. Who would want anything to do with me?” He shot back in response. He jumped down from the bed, towering over us.
“I don’t care if you are cursed. You are hiding others so suspicion.
they could attack soon, right?” Genevieve’s eyes

“Maybe if you weren’t isolated from the world, then you would know that I’m no threat to you.” He mumbled mockingly stepping closer to her, but she backed away.
“Stop right there.” She pointed with clenched fist. “Don’t you dare get close to me.” She spat out.
“Scared I would kiss you again?” He asked teasingly, closing in on her.

Wait what? He kissed Genevieve?
She gritted her teeth angrily, shutting her eyes and opening it. He groaned suddenly, falling to the floor with a twisted expression.
“What are you doing, Genevieve?” I asked in panic, glancing at her as the cold sweat formed on his face.
“I warned you to stay back!” She sneered with hatred on her eyes. “But you wouldn’t.” She justified in fury.
“Ugh.” He screamed in pained, shutting his eyes and holding his head in pain.
“Stop, please. You’re going to kill him, Genevieve.” I said in a plea, tugging her arm, but she casted me a side glance.
“Stand aside, Elara.” She reprimanded, tossing me to the floor angrily. I fell on my butt with a loud thud, scratching my
hand.

Genevieve wasn’t the Chief for no reason. She had the powers a lot didn’t. She was supposed to be the Coven leader after our mother, but the Moon chose me instead. It sounded crazy when I couldn’t do anything properly.
“Now you will answer my questions or I will make it more painful.” She declared in an icy voice. He gritted his teeth in defiance.
“How did you find this place?” She repeated her question in a low tone, crouching to the ground.
“I already told you. I saw-” He snapped angrily, but Genevieve smacked him in the face silencing him.
“You will speak the truth.” She said in a soft tone.
“Aurora brought me here.” He confessed in a quiet tone. “She asked me to come see her in Dark Coast.” He whispered staring at Genevieve intensely.
“What is this Aurora?” Genevieve asked in curiosity. I was also curious about who she was and why he thought she was Genevieve.
“She was a human.” He admitted with a sad smile, “A descendant of the Moon Goddess.”
“Was?” I asked in curiosity meeting his eye gaze. “Is she dead?”
“Yes, little witch, but she’s returned back as Genevieve.” He whispered glancing at my sister before looking back at me.
I snorted in response, scrambling to my feet. “Why are you
here?”
“I wanted you to break the curse so I could die in peace, but after finding Aurora-“
“I won’t help you, beast. Your kind disgust me and you somehow think I…” Genevieve laughed with flushed face, moving her finger to side. He rolled to the right, hitting his body on the body.
He groaned, trying to find his feet. I hesitated before stepping forward to help him up. Genevieve had a temper.
“Don’t fucking touch me!” He snapped as I reached for his hand. I flinched back with wide
eyes.
“The name is Kaiden.” He growled with an edge in his voice. “Kaiden Thane.” He added with a scorching eyes on Genevieve.
“And I’m not Aurora.” She shot back, flipping her finger around but he didn’t budge.
“Obviously you aren’t my Aurora. You are nothing, but a cunning disgusting witch.” He spat out in anger, chuckling bitterly.
I was taken aback by his words. Did he hate witches?

“Let’s go, Elara.” Genevieve announced, scrambling up to her feet slowly.

“But-” I protested, but she gave me a death glare silencing me. I trailed behind her as she stormed out of the room angrily. I shut the door slowly locking eyes with the intruder–Kaiden who held nothing than hatred.
