Chapter 131
Chapter 131
Genevieve
“Why didn’t you push him away?” Michael asked with narrowed eyes. He had always been a jealous lover but to think of accusing me of infidelity was disgusting.
“Are you accusing me of cheating?” I enquired in calmness, tapping my foot on the floor. I was thinking back to the werewolf. He had striking features regardless of his disheveled state.
“He claims to know you, and you even exchanged fluids.” He scowled in disgust. He had been upset earlier about holding off our wedding until next month.
I took a deep breath, flashing him a wide smile. “I understand you are upset, but you can’t go around accusing me like that.” I tried to stay calm but something in snapped.
“He’s insane, and you saw that, yet you accuse me?” I flared, jolting from the bed. “Didn’t you hear him calling me Aurora?” I snapped, pushing him back in challenging tone.
“And why would I stoop so low to date a beast?” My voice kept increasing with each word.
“I’m sorry.” He said quickly, reaching for me, but I sneered, stepping back.
He huffed in frustration, “But how did he find here?” He asked, steering off the subject. I glared at him, slowly sinking my weight back on the soft plush bed.
“I don’t know, Michael.” I sighed in worry. For years, no one has been able to find our portal or locate this place, yet a werewolf did. It was shocking, and made me question his identity.
“Why do you think he’s here?” Michael thought out loud, sitting beside me cautiously.
I glanced at him dumbfounded. “We both walk into the room same time. How can I possibly know what goes through his mind?” I was amazed by his question.
“He came for you, sister.” Elara announced, strolling into the room.
“Since when did you walk into my room without knocking?” I snapped with knitted brow. Elara was like a child who throw tantrums, but she never forget her manners.
“Sister…” She pouted, ignoring my question. I knew why she was here. She was here to convince me to keep the beast around.
“No.” I screamed with flushed face. Werewolves were the reason we were in hiding in the first place. Our coven–stead was attacked by those beasts in past for refusing to partaking in their quest to wipe off the humans.
“Don’t you want to find out how he saw the portal others couldn’t see?” She asked with a sly smile.
“If he dies in his car, you won’t be able to do that.” She added with an innocent smile.
“Your sister is right.” Michael mused in agreement. I sighed. I was more curious than she was about the beast after he entered our portals.
“Bring him to the Covenstead then.” I ordered, and she beamed at me, dashing out of the room.
“Elara doesn’t feel something for that man, right?” Michael asked with a scowl watching her disappearing figure.
“She doesn’t!” I shrieked angrily. She would never fall for his kind knowing what they did to us. She was being nice as always.

He nodded, steering off the conversation. “About the wedding…” He trailed off, staring at me intensely.
“Not now, Michael.” I sighed, closing my eyes to shut the image of the kiss that kept popping in my head.
“When? You can’t just keep postponing the wedding, Gene.” He muttered in frustration.
“It’s almost as if you are waiting for something or someone.” He whispered to himself, but I caught it.

I didn’t know why I was stalling. I love Michael, however each time I thought of spending my life with him, I freak out and hold off the wedding.
Was he right about waiting for something? Maybe. But I didn’t know what it was.
“I’m not waiting for anyone, Michael.” I reassured word for word to convince him. He studied my expression for any hint of lie.
“I want to left alone.” I informed him breaking eye contact.
His face scrunched in confusion, “We live here together, remember?” He gave me a pointed look.
“I will leave then.” I announced, storming out before he could stop me. I exhaled as I entered the room next door, slamming the door shut and leaning on it.
I shouldn’t have seen that. I didn’t know how, but I saw that beasts memories. His good memories with his lover, and how she died. It was his scar. A scar I somehow connected to. Like I had been there when it happened.
“What’s wrong with you, Genevieve?” I scolded myself, shaking off his thoughts from my head. I was feeling sorry for a beast?
I threw my weight on the bed, staring at the ceiling. My mind continuously kept going back to the beast. I didn’t look anything like his lover, yet he kept referring to me as ‘Aurora‘ knowing she was dead.
I huffed in annoyance, jolting from the bed and walking out of the room. I needed to get my answers. My role was to protect the Covenstead. If he could find this place, then we were not safe anymore.
“Elara.” I called, walking into her room but she wasn’t in. I rubbed my eyes tiredly, walking over to the guest room. That was where we kept ‘strangers‘.
I turned the door knob open, and Elara was there, sitting on the chair next to the beast.
“Genevieve.” Elara whispered with a nervous smile, jumping up from the chair.
“Why are you here, Elara…?” I trailed off suspiciously. Was Michael right about… No, she was stupid.
“How about you, Sister?” She crossed her arms, arching her eyebrows. I blinked my eyes, staring at her blankly.
I breathed heavily, strolling towards her. I stared at the man lying on the bed with closed eyes. “Don’t worry he isn’t deac yet.” Elara reassured, spinning around to the bed.
