“I’m responsible for Ariel’s disappearance.” Silas confessed standing in the middle of the hall, “Well not me, but Torrence pack.” He clarified with a mock smile. When he said he had something to tell me, and my parents, I didn’t think it would be this.

I stared at him with a blank expression. Kaiden had been right, they were all right. I’m a fucking idiot. How had I allowed my grief blind me so much? I searched for Ariel everywhere for weeks, and she was nowhere to be seen. It never crossed my mind that she would be in Torrence pack. No, it did cross my mind, but I was too eager to blame Kaiden for everything.

I was fooled me into wedging a war with Kaiden, but what was the goal?

“I told you Kaiden isn’t responsible for Ariel’s disappearance.” My dad mumbled after Silas told the truth.

“It’s always them.” My mom hissed in anger as she glared at him.

“I never asked your son to be that stupid.” Silas replied in mockery, shrugging off his shoulder.

“Why are you coming clean about this now?” I questioned in suspicion. He had been shut about it for weeks, and all of a sudden he’s blurting it out without being asked? That wasn’t normal.

“I decided to be nice.” He said dismissively, but I didn’t believe him. I would be foolish to believe his words again.

“The real reason.” I gritted out, stepping down from the podium in slow steps.

He raised his hand up in the air when I close in on him in a predatory manner. “Easy, Alpha. You wouldn’t want to kill me.” He said smugly.

“Why are you telling me this, Silas?” I repeated, grabbing the collar of his shirt angrily.

“Let’s just say we’re tired of playing ‘hide and seek“.” He remained unfazed by the dark look on my face. I shook my head in anger, extending my claws, and raising it up in the air to slice through his face.

“Wait, Wait!” He shrieked in panic, causing me to stop midway. I arched a brow, urging him to spill or I attack.

He heaved in relief before saying, “She wants to meet you.”

“Who the fuck is ‘she?” I snapped in irritation, inching my claws closer to his face.

“Madam Jane.” He announced in a shrieked voice when my claws dig into his cheek.

“Madam Jane?” My mom echoed in confusion, “Is there anyone with such name in Torrence pack?” Her face wrinkled in thoughts.

“I swear there is!” He added quickly in defense. “I don’t know much about her too, but she exist.”

I searched his face for any hint of lies but found nothing. I chewed the inside of my mouth, gently releasing his clothes, and drawing my claws out in the most painful way.

“So much for confessing to you.” He mumbled, touching the area on his cheek with a wince.

“You’re going to lead us to this ‘Madam Jane.” I announced and my parents nodded in agreement.

“You’re not coming with us.” I informed in a stoic tone. My mom’s face fell with disappointment while my dad stared at me

in disbelief.

Chapter 121

“You can’t go there alone with him,” my dad snarled at Silas. “What if something happens to you?”

“Don’t say things like that.” My mom reprimanded, slapping his arm.

She was equally as scared as he was. Scared she was going to lose another child, and I couldn’t assure them of my safety. It was a fifty–fifty chance of surviving, but I’m willing to take it. I’m willing to rewrite my wrongs to Aurora.

“Let’s go, Silas.” I stated, arching my head back to him without easing their concerns. Over the weeks, I had let go of the anger I held for them. They had shown more concern than I thought they would and it softened my heart.

“Ryker.” My mom called back. I spun around, staring at her with an unreadable expression.

“You’ll return, right honey?” She asked with hopeful eyes. My lips twitched as I nodded slowly in response. A wide smile spread on her face as she waved me off.

I spun on my heels, walking out of the room with my mind set in determination. I’m returning back with Ariel and Aurora.

“Fucking open this gates.” I heard noises coming from the front walls. Kaiden was here. Perfect timing it seems.

I increased my pace, stopping to the gates. Kaiden was standing right outside with pale face. He wasn’t fully recovered. It made me more guilty than I already felt.

He stopped when he got sight of me. “I’m here to die.” He announced with sharpenedores. “The next time we crossed path, one of us must die.” He reminded me of those words I said two weeks back.

“Let’s talking about dying when we find them.” I declared, glaring at the guards to stay down. I pull the gates open, stepping out of it with Silas trailing behind me.

His face scrunched in confusion as he stared at me. “What the fuck are you up to?” He snapped in suspicion as I brushed past him.

“We’re going to get Aurora and Ariel.” I explained curtly, staring at his weak body. “You look horrible.” I commented with a sigh.

“Where’s your car keys?” I demanded before he would snap at me. He shoot me a cold stare before shoving his hand to his pocket and pulling it out.

“He’ll drive.” I stated, throwing the keys to Silas. He hummed in response, staggering his way into the backseat of the car and I followed behind.

“Let me guess, you realized I was right about Ariel disappearance having a connection to Torrence pack?” He asked with an unreadable expression as Silas started the car.

“I hate to say you were right.” I said with a sad smile, running my hand in my hair in frustration.

“You were so stupid to run to them for help.” He scoffed, shaking his head in disappointment.

“You don’t need to remind me, alpha.” I spat in irritation, averting my gaze because he was right.

He chuckled, “Aurora better be fine.” He warned with a hopeful eyes before staring out of the window. And Ariel too. I hoped I wasn’t too late.

“Let’s come back alive.” He said suddenly staring at me with fist. I smiled before bumping his fist with mine in agreement.
