I found it hard to believe that Keira wasn’t dead, and how I hadn’t noticed. Maybe because she sounded different from the Keira I knew before. She looked completely different too. She now had a black hair, brown eyes, and she was even taller than I remembered. I wouldn’t have believed she was the same person if she didn’t know so much about what transpired in the past. Did she switch her souls with someone?

I stared at the chains binding me to the with hardened gaze. I need to get out of this hell hole before she thought of new ways to torture me. I pulled on the chains hard, biting my lips till I drew blood to stop me from screaming. My body was starting to tremble, but my zeal to survive kept me going. I continued until the chains broke off.

I heaved in relief, ignoring the weakness that came with the struggle. My hands hurt from the pain and blood covered my wrist. I placed my hand on my flat tummy with a small smile making its way to my face.

“We’re leaving here, baby.” I whispered with a proud smile. Keira didn’t succeed in killing my baby and I wasn’t going to sit for longer time to watch her do it.

I staggered out of the hospital bed, using the bed as a support as I tried to catch my breath. I looked around the room for anything that could use as a weapon. My eyes landed on the syringe lying on the floor. I grabbed it tightly, my eyes sharpening in determination. I could only rely on my strength to get me out of this place.

I took a step forward to the door, freezing when I heard footsteps approaching the room. I quickly ran back to the bed, lying on it and shutting my eyes. The door opened shortly after, heavy footsteps stomping on the floor.

“I’m sure I heard a noise.” A man spoke with doubt in his voice as he scanned the room. I completely forgot I was in Torrence pack, and the noise of chains probably got to their ears.

As he touched my hand, my eyes flew opened and I stabbed the syringe to

his

eyes. 

*Ahh–I covered his mouth before he could scream any further. The blood from his eyes rolled down to my hand, as he struggled to free himself from my hold, but could a half blind man do? I snapped his neck, throwing his body to the floor.

“You shouldn’t have messed with me in the first place.” I gritted out in a hoarse voice. I wasn’t a warrior for nothing. I wiped the blood on my hands on his body, searching for a gun on his body. I found a key instead. and I didn’t hesitate in taking it. Anything could serve as a weapon.

“You can fight them, Ariel.” I said to my self repeatedly.

Keira wasn’t that strong. I could defeat her easily especially now that she was human. I sensed the difference the first day she walked into the room, but I wasn’t too sure about it. She probably switched souls with a human to stay unnoticed by anyone all this years.

I opened the door, looking around the empty hallway with in relief. This made my work a lot more easily. All I needed to do was to get out of those gates and I will finally be set free. I took a step forward into the hallway, walking towards my right. My steps were hesitant as I anticipated an attack. My breathing hitched in my throat when I heard voices approaching me. I searched around for where to hide. Without thinking, I walked into the room by my left. I leaned my back on the door with heavy breath as the voices walked past the room I was in except for one…two persons that paused in front of the door.

I scanned around in panic, deciding to hide under the bed. The door swung opened and Keira walked in with her ‘guard. He was a werewolf which meant he could hear another heart beat. I swallowed the lump in my throat as they approached the bed.

“How are you doing. Aurora?” I heard Keira asked in a fake sincerity. Aurora? I had been too ‘preoccupied‘ to notice anyone lying on the bed.

“I will put you out of your misery soon.” She spat out, “It’s only a matter of days.”

Chapter 120

With that she walked out of the room with her guard trailing behind her. I waited patiently for their steps to fade out before I slowly came out of my hiding place.

I stood beside the bed, staring at Aurora with a look of pity. She was barely recognizable. Her body was covered in injuries and she was looked pale. She was on the brink on death.

“I’m going to get you out of here.” I whispered with determination, holding her cold hand. But how do I wake her up? I couldn’t possibly carry her, I’m not that strong.

I stared around for a defibrillator. That was the only way to wake her feet. There was a slim chance of actually succeeding. but I didn’t have much of a choice. If I let her stay here she will die, and I don’t think Ryker would ever forgive himself if that happened.

I grabbed the paddle, turning the machine on and pressed it to her chest. Her chest bounced up, but her eyes didn’t stare open. I repeated the process, waiting patiently for a reaction. I was about losing hope when she gasped, fluttering her eyes

open.

“Aurora” I beamed, throwing the machine aside. She stared around the room with a hint of confusion before her eyes landed on me.

“Ariel” She whispered for confirmation, blinking her eyes slowly

“We need to go now.” I said quickly, helping her out of the bed. I walked slowly towards the door, holding her tightly so she wouldn’t fall.

“What’s wrong?” She asked weakly when I stepped walking, but I didn’t respond as I stared past the door. We’ve been caught.

“And where do you think you are going?” Keira asked in menace, walking through doors.
