The lady psycho hadn’t been messing around with me. I had stayed in her lover’s room for as long as I can remember. weighing my options. She always made it a routine to visit almost every hour each day to remind me of her dominance over me. It was frustrating to say the least. I thought of killing the man and dying along side him, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I was clinging on stupid hope of seeing Kaiden again, when the chances were low.

“Mom?” I drew her attention in my subconscious mind. She arched her head towards me with a sad smile on her face.

“You’re here, honey.” There was no eagerness to see me like before, “I was waiting for you.” She added, dropping down the book in her hand

“Is something wrong?” I couldn’t help but ask. Something was obviously wrong. My mom reaches out to me each time I’m in danger, not the other way round. She didn’t this time, or wasn’t I in danger?

“You’re here because you need help right?” She ignored my question, pulling me down to the sofa.

“Jane is trying to kill me. I announced with a sigh. Her demands was equal to death.

“And we can’t let that happen, honey.” She patted my hair gently with a proud smile on her face.

“What do you suggest I do, Mom?” I asked with a pleading tone. “I can’t possibly wake him up without losing my life.” 1 echoed in alarm.

“This is the last conversation we are going to hold, honey.” She declared surprising me.

“What do you mean by that?” I narrowed my eyes in suspicions, slowly pushing off her hand which rested on my face.

“I always be here.” She carried on, pointing to my chest.

I stared at her in anger. “Are you being serious now, Mom! You think this is the best time for you to disappear?” I snapped

with a frustrated smile.

“I’m sorry, honey but I need to do this to protect you.” She stared the other direction, unfazed by my anger.

“They’re going to kill you and you can’t change that She informed, her words sending fear causing through my body.

“I’m going to die.” I said bitterly, biting my lips hard.

“There are things that can’t be changed no matter how hard you try, but I’m going to change your fate, honey? She declared with determination in her eyes as she stared back at me.

“What are you saying. Mom?” I asked in confusion

“I won’t let you die, Aurora. It was a promise. “You just have to trust your mother, okay?” She urged with plea in her eyes.

“What are you gonna do?” 1 demanded with a uneasiness.

She didn’t respond for a moment. “I love you, honey and I’m proud of the woman you’ve become.” She was saying goodbye.

“Mom, don’t leave me.” I said desperately, grabbing her hand.

“I’m not leaving you, honey.” She denied, catching the lone tear that fell from my eyes. “Go back now” She instructed, but I shook my head stubbornly when realization hit me.

“I don’t need you dying for me.” I stated quickly with soft sobs,

“But I’m already dead” She said playfully, withdrawing her hand Int held on tightly with soft sob

She smiled at me before knocking me out. I gasped in panic as 1 struggled to hang on to her but it was useless.

My eyes blinked open as I returned back to the reality. Why was she putting herself out there for me? She was obviously going to do something which would cost her spirit to dissipate, but I couldn’t tell what

Tm back, Aurora” Joe announced walking through the doors with Jacob behind her as always. I snapped my neck towards her in anger. I wanted her gone, but I couldn’t leave a cut if I was to fight her

“Why are you staring at me like that?” She sneered, marching towards me and hitting my cheek hardl

“It’s all your fauh!” I snarled as a tear rolled down. She stared at me with near disgust, trying to process my words, but I didn’t give a chance as I grabbed her hair angrily, and pushing her to the ground.

She huffed angrily, scrambling to her feet. “Did you just attack me? She gritted in disbelief.

“Yes, I fucking did.” I took a bold step towards her, my heart racing in fury. There was no point acting cautiously. I was going to end up dead anyways so why hesitate

“Mmm hmmm” She hummed in response, brushing past me to her mate’s bed.

Tve being patient enough, don’t you think?” She asked rhetorically. I hissed in response, slowly spinning around to look at her.

“How about you take my blood yourself?” Ispat in her face, stretching out my hand.

“I didn’t want to get my hands dirty” She responded like the psychopath she was. “I prefer watching you cut yourself open.” She flashed me a smile. She was on a different mask today which allowed me both her eyes and lips.

“But since you asked. I will honor your request.” Her words hung on the air. I was starting to thinking she was bluffing until I saw her pull out a hand.

I stepped backwards on instinctive, racing my hand up in surrender. I didn’t think she was going to choose a gun to actually draw out blood, but then again what had I expected from a psycho!

“Jacob!” She growled out, with the gun pointed to my head. Had she been carrying the gun around all this time?

Jacob walked towards me and held me tightly in a position.

“I heard you heal quickly, but no one heals that quick from a bullet gun” That was the last thing I heard before she pulled on the trigger.

I fell on Jacob’s body as the bullet passed through my stomach. It hurt like hell, my breathing unsteady with pain. But they weren’t done with me.

“Don’t drain everything, Jacob.” She instructed as her steps faded out of the room. He nodded in response before turning back to me with a nasty smile. His face blurred from my vision as I shut my eyes and succumbed to the darkness.
