I didn’t think Ariel would be that bold to storm into my office, demanding for answers as to Ryker’s sudden distance. She was either ready to lose her life or was certain 1 wouldn’t hurt her.
I was lying about being unapologetic. It’s been two weeks since I set eyes on him and we’ve grown apart since then. I thought he had let go of everything but I was mistaken. He had meant every word about leaving the pack. I was convinced that this was his way of grieving. We all grieved differently.
I pushed the entrance door opened, stumbling backwards when Aurora jumped on my body with a squeal. I chuckled, wrapping my arms around her waist.
“Did you miss me that much?” I whispered into her hair, shutting the door with my foot.
“No, I didn’t.” she responded playfully, biting my ear lobe. I hummed in response, walking into bedroom.
“I think I found a way to return back your strengths I stole.” She announced with a grin as I tossed her over the bed.
“I’m listening” I responded, crawling towards her slowly. She had been worried about my wounds which were now fully recovered.

“You’re asking for death, love.” I said I a warning tone. “I’m fine without my powers” I declared firmly, getting off the bed like in burned.
“Why do you dislike witches?” She demanded stubbornly, scrambling to her feet.
“Dislike…” I tasted the words in my mouth with a twisted smile. “I hate witches, Aurora.” I clarified in an icy voice.
“Exactly my point!” She threw her hands up in the air in frustration. “Why do you hate them so much?”
“Because” My words were cut off by the loud banging sound on the door. I exchanged glances with Aurora, before rushing off to the wardrobe and taking out my dagger.
“Stay here.” I ordered. She tried to protest, but I shook my head with a warning stare. She huffed in annoyance, nodding her head reluctantly.
I strode out of the room, shutting the doors and headed to the main door. I didn’t bother asking for the intruder’s name with aims of killing the bastard. I might be weaker now, but I could certainly fight.
I pulled the door opened, aiming for the bastard’s neck, but I missed as I felt the dagger been thrown off my hand. “Where the fuck is she?” Ryker’s face cane into view as he pushed me backwards.
“What are you doing here?” I snapped angrily. I could have fucking killed him.
“Where is she?” He roared in anger, ignoring my question. I stared at him with confusion, unbothered by his anger.

His laughter filled the room. He grabbed the collar of my shirt, his eyes burning with fury. “Ariel is missing” He announced with an accusatory gaze..
“Maybe she stepped out” I offered with a pointed look. “Why are you asking me about her?” I spat angrily, yanking his hand off my shirt.
“Ariel always tells me where she’s going to and she said she was going to see you!” He shoved a small note into my face as proof.
“It’s been six hours already and she’s nowhere to be seen. Where did you take her?” He continued in distrust.
“Why would I even kidnapped Ariel?” I asked an unimpressed gaze.
“Because you fucking hate her. He stated. Well, he has a point there but I didn’t hate her anymore. It was a neutral feeling
“I didn’t take Ariel” I informed in a clear tone.
He shook his head, letting out a frustrated groaned. “Give her back!” He roared, grabbing the dagger from the floor and slicing into my skin.
“Ryker!” Aurora reprimanded in panic, rushing towards me.
“Are you okay, baby?” Aurora asked inspecting the fresh wound on my arm. I nodded with a reassuring smile. I was least bothered about the wound, after all I had done far worst each time I was pissed.
“All I need is Ariel” He stated in a cold voice, unfazed by the blood gushing out of my flesh.
“I don’t fucking have her!” I sneered at him with the same hostility. It was at this moment I wished I was that same cruel

“I don’t care if you do or not, Kaiden. Bring her back to me?” He said with livid eyes.
“Kaiden isn’t responsible for Ariel’s disappearance” Aurora tried to advocate
“We can help you look for her.” She offered with a warm smile, but he was unimpressed.
“Stay out of this, Rory.” He warned, staring back at me. “Don’t blame me for acting out, Kaiden.” He threatened before turning on his heels.
“He’s losing it.” Aurora remarked in concern staring at his back as he disappeared into the night.
I wasn’t denying her visit today, but kidnapping her? Why would I do that? Someone was responsible for this. Someone who planned on using Ryker’s grief against me. Someone who knew about Ariel’s visit…but who the fuck was it?
