The plan wasn’t to go back to Kaiden, but all the anger I felt vanished with the new information I was still trying to process. 1 had to speak to my mother about this. It wasn’t my intention to hurt him. All I wanted was to use my powers for good but all I have only happened to do more harm than good.
“Mom?” I screamed in anger as I walked into my room but all I got was silence. I huffed in frustration, remembering I couldn’t get to her by screaming the roof down. I took two steps back, locking the doors before sitting on my bed.
We had just returned back to the apartment, and I had taken it upon myself to treat his wounds. He fell asleep afterwards. It was surprising how quickly he slept off considering how he never did in the past.
I crossed my legs over each other, shutting my eyes close and focusing on memories of my mother–good memories. It took a while to clear up my head before she finally showed up.
“Everything okay, honey?” She asked in worry, walking towards me.
“You knew what was happening with Kaiden, but you kept mute abou subconscious.
it!” I snapped angrily, scrambling from the bed in my
“What are you talking about, honey?” She scrunched her face, feigning ignorance.
“Kaiden isn’t healing, Mom. You can’t say you knew nothing about it. I deadpanned with a snarl. It was wrong to speak to a parent in such tone, at least she taught me that. However, I cared little about mariners right now.
“I thought you knew about it.” She argued, unfazed by my anger. “Sorry to disappoint you honey, but I don’t know about everything happening around you.”
I let out a sharp breath, calming my hazed thoughts. “How can I undo it?” I asked curiously, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“You can’t undo it. She stated with a shrug.
“What do you mean I can’t undo it? I did this to him so there must be something-
“But there’s nothing you can do, honey.” She cut me off sharply. “Each time you propagate death, you absorb that person’s strength, making it hard for them to survive.” She informed
“It’s a miracle Kaiden survived your wrath” She said with a proud smile.
“I couldn’t hurt the Magnus. So maybe I’m not that invincible.” I digressed with a twisted smile.
“You couldn’t hurt him because he was protected by spells to repel which repel your power.” She stated, “And I never said you were invincible, Aurora. You can be easily killed by anyone.” She countered with a warning look.
“What exactly are you saying, Mom! That I should let him die?” I said bitterly, my eyebrows knitting together.
“He’s m
‘s not gonna die, honey. She announced and I let out a hollow laugh
“A werewolf without his healing ability is good as dead” I declared in a firm tone. “His healing rate is worser than mine when I was still normal” My face crinkled in frustration
“That’s because you were away from him for long” She admitted
“It’s just a week, Mom. I hissed, “What does that have to do with anything?” I thought out loud.
“You’re mates, honey. She stated the obvious like I didn’t know that already

“Okay urged to contine, with my eyes bulging out with interest
“The mate bond is stronger when you are together than apart” She drawled, “Just the same way you relied on him the past, he now relies on you” She informed, pursing her lips.
That’s why I told you to go back to him.” She added with accusations in her tone.

“You never said anything about someone relying on me for survival” I shot back sarcastically. “So I just need to stay by his side!” I furrowed my eyebrow.
“Yes, honey. You’-”
“Aurora” Kaiden’s voice snapped my eyes open, shuning off the link. I turned my head towards him with a smile tugged on
my face.
“What are you doing?” He asked with a narrowed eyes, sitting beside me.
“Did I wake you up?” I asked back. It was impossible to wake him up when I was talking in my subconsciousness,
“You weren’t in bed with me, so I couldn’t sleep well.” He admitted with a shrug.
That’s explains the bag under your eyes. You haven’t been getting enough sleep since I left. I muttered and he hurmmed in
agreement
“Now don’t change the subject. Why are you here?” He asked again in a serious tone.
“I was talking to my mom.” I admitted, resting my head on his shoulder.
“About?” He pestered, looking at me from the corner of his eyes.
I titled my chin up to look at him. “I was looking for a solution to this.” I confessed pointing to the wound on his stomach with an intense stare. It looked better after cleaning it up.
“Did you find any?” He quipped with pursed lips.
I shook my head, “No, I didn’t, but I found a way to make you heal faster,” I said, nibbling on the corner of my lips. He hummed in response, meaning for me to continue.
“I need to stay close to you so you could recover,” I announced, wetting my lips.
“How close?” He asked playfully, with a teasing smile.
“I don’t mean that sort of close.” I scolded, shaking my head in amusement.
“I want that sort of close now, love.” He countered, kissing my neck. “I want to be inside you, Aurora” His voice vibrated against my skin, sending warmth in between my legs.
“You’re wounded, baby.” I reminded, gasping when he cupped my breasts.
“You weren’t complaining earlier when I was fucking you.” He teased, pulling back with a smug smile. His words made every rationality fly out of the window.
“Fuck you, Kaiden.” I cursed, sealing our lips with a hungry kiss.
