Chapter 8 8

Theo lay atop Cecilia, their bodies entwined, her pale skin flushed with a rosy hue, soft moans escaping her lips. They were
intimately entangled, lost in a frenzy of passion.
He seemed to have lost all reason, driven by a wild, insatiable desire.
She, however, enjoyed his worship like a queen reveling in her subject’s adoration.
Her gaze, directed at the camera, pierced my heart like a dagger…
I painfully zoomed in, enlarging every detail.
Soon, the videos and photos were retracted one by one.
But the memories in my mind could never be erased.
A video call came through.
After the passion had subsided, Cecilia’s voice still carried the lingering echoes of pleasure, “Did you see that?”
Even though I had resolved to let go, seeing the scenes in the video felt like a lump in my throat, unbearably painful.
“Your man is lying beside me right now…”
A familiar profile, unmistakable.
It was. Theo, as expected.
Cecilia traced his eyebrows with her fingers, her expression a mix of sweetness and provocation as she looked at me, “He’s
tired…” Then she let out a low chuckle.
“And you know what? Right after he left your little apartment, he came straight to see me. Thea, you really are pathetic. If
you keep clinging to Theo, you’re destined to be despised by him for the rest of your life.”
She deliberately let the camera sweep over the suggestive marks on her body.
And his bare upper body.
She pouted and complained, “Men really can’t go without for too long, can they? He almost wore me out…”
Watching her, the pain in my heart gradually faded, and I found myself able to speak calmly, “Cecilia, I might be pitiful, but you’re even more pathetic. A man publicly abandoned you, yet you still let him use you. Truly pathetic.”
My words enraged Cecilia, her face contorting with anger, but she quickly recovered, laughing mockingly, “He chose you in public, but what about afterward?”
“Haha… Thea, you’ve never experienced it, have you?”
“Just now, Theo said I was the first woman he’s been with in three years… He scolded me for leaving him three years ago. If I hadn’t left, he wouldn’t have met you, so he really took it out on me.”

“I have to admit, you won at the banquet; he chose you. But his body chose me.“.
Cecilia lowered her head and kissed his lips.
He responded unconsciously,
Soon, the screen went dark.
But the sounds of their heavy breathing and entangled bodies continued.
I sat on the floor, numb, all night.
Tears… they flowed and flowed… until they stopped.
I thought back to the moment I first fell in love with him, and everything that had happened since.
It turns out, you can love someone for a very long time.
But the decision to let go happens in an instant.
Theo, I tried.
I gave you a chance.
I came so close to loving you completely, but I won’t take that final step.
I took out my phone and made a call.
“Thea, did you have a wonderful night?”
“It seems I misjudged Theo. He might just barely be suitable to be my brother–in–law… Tomorrow, well, it’s already past. midnight, so today at nine, I’ll personally go to the Lewis Group to sign the contract with Theo.”
Theo had announced our relationship at his birthday banquet, so it wasn’t surprising that Rosalie would think this way.
Hearing my sister’s voice, a wave of sadness washed over me, and I choked up, “Rosalie… I want to go home… I miss you…
I miss Jasper…”
There was a three–second silence on the other end of the line.
“Thea, I’m coming to get you right now. Don’t be afraid! I’ll take you home.”
