Chapter 7 7
For a moment, my breath seemed to stop.
But then, I let go of my reservations and wrapped my arms around Theo’s neck, kissing him wildly. I whispered softly, “Don’t you desire me?”
Theo grabbed my shoulders, his eyes blazing with fire, and suddenly, he lowered his head and kissed me fiercely.
The kiss was forceful and aggressive, full of dominance.
As our passionate kiss deepened, my clothes gradually slipped off.
But then he suddenly snapped out of it, grabbed the blanket beside us, and covered me with it, holding me close.
He struggled to control his erratic breathing.
And as his breathing steadied, my heart grew cold and lifeless.
So, this is how disgusting it feels to beg for affection.
I don’t know how much time passed before Theo whispered in my ear, “Thea, I want our first time to be on our wedding night.”
“You are the best girl in the world. I don’t want to take you so casually.”
“Really?”
He detected the sarcasm in my voice.
It seemed to ignite a fuse, and Theo pinned me beneath him, his face cold as he looked at me.
“Thea, what’s gotten into you today?”
“Theo, when are we getting married?”
“Can we wait until I regain my footing in the Lewis Group?”
“Didn’t you already get the cooperation agreement?”
“But it’s not an official partnership yet.”
“So, do we have to wait until the underwater world project is completely finished?”
“Thea, stop it. Besides, I defied my father and put up with so much criticism for you tonight, making my position in the
group even more awkward.”
“I’m not making a fuss. I want you to marry me now.”
“Thea, I’ve already told everyone you’re my girlfriend. What more do you want?”
I pressed my lips together and said nothing. It was laughable; I was already his girlfriend.

“I defied my father and put up with so much criticism for you. Can’t you be a bit more understanding?”
“Now I’m negotiating business with Sunrise Group and Glow Group. I’m busy and exhausted every day.”
He suddenly got up and paced back and forth by the bed. “You used to be so considerate and understanding. When did you become so aggressive?”
I continued to look at him silently, at the man I had loved for seven years since my sophomore year in college.
I didn’t play dumb and believe everything he said like I used to. Now he thought I was being aggressive?
He opened his mouth, then swallowed his words, saying nothing, yet saying everything.
“Take some time to calm down. I’m going back to the office to work overtime.”
After saying that, Theo left without looking back.
I slowly sat up, looking down at my disheveled clothes, and laughed at myself.
I felt ashamed of myself, but he was quite repulsive too.
I thought that by staying with him through tough times, we would have a happy ending. But the moment I pinned my hopes on a man, I had already lost.
Lying was my first mistake.
One mistake led to another.
I sat up and turned off all the surveillance cameras in the house.
But thinking about it, how could he possibly care about the surveillance now?
I walked out of the room, surprised to find the door open.
The lights in the hallway were off.
He didn’t even close the door. Did he ever think about my disabled legs? Leaving the door wide open, didn’t he think I could be in danger?
I glanced at the end of the hallway, laughed bitterly, and then closed and locked the door.
The simple action drained all my strength.
I don’t know how much time passed until I heard the notification sound.
I opened my phone to see a message from an unfamiliar WeChat account.
“Do you want to know what he’s doing right now?”
He?
Theo?
I impulsively clicked ‘agree.‘
A series of photos came through.
In the photos, a suit and a red fishtail dress were casually thrown together.
A shirt.
