Chapter 13 13
The once tender gaze and sweet words had now turned into a sense of entitlement, piercing my heart deeply.
I couldn’t deny that his thoughts still shocked me.
My eyes welled up with tears. Though I had decided to let go, it was hard to accept that someone I had loved for so long was no different from most men–preaching undying love while unwilling to give up fleeting beauty.
“Thea, I truly love you,” Theo said.
“Your so–called love changes in an instant. You claim to love me, yet you despise my legs,” I retorted.
Theo’s expression faltered, but he quickly forced a smile and said softly, “Thea, I’ve protected you well these past few years. Do you know how many girls dream of having the life you have?”
I let out a series of bitter laughs. So, this was why he felt so secure?
“I admit I lied to you, but wasn’t it because I loved you? You once said that even a well–intentioned lie could bloom in the desert.”
Those familiar words now tasted bitter. I had once worried that he would be angry if he found out I lied, so I occasionally tested him. Now, it had become his excuse.
This was the bitter pill I had to swallow. The lie that began with me would end with me as well. “I agreed to come here
today to make things clear face–to–face. Let’s end this amicably. Don’t drag others into our issues. We’re done. No fuss, just
a peaceful end.”
“Go chase the life you want, and please, don’t disturb my peace anymore.”
Theo’s eyes reddened, and his throat bobbed.
He then closed the box heavily, his expression shifting several times before finally settling.
The guests who had been causing a commotion awkwardly averted their eyes, though they couldn’t help but glance over.
Theo looked hurt. “I’ve already humbled myself to beg you, but you’re still so stubborn. Thea, don’t let a moment of anger
lead to lifelong regret.”
“You’re overthinking it.”
“Have you considered that if you miss out on me, you’ll end up alone? No normal man would truly care for you. But remembering our years together, I would treat you well.”
“I admit I’ve neglected your feelings lately, but that won’t happen again.”
I blamed myself for not having studied the art of insults over the years. My mind was racing with words like shameless and revolting, but I didn’t know how to vent my frustration.
“Is it because I’m disabled that you feel so secure? I’m setting you free now, yet you refuse to let go.”

Chapter 13 13
Theo pressed his lips tightly together, his face growing increasingly grim.
“Let’s go home!” Theo stood up, and the bodyguards, seeing this, began to slowly surround us.
I asked, “Are you trying to lock me up?”
“You have no one to turn to in Mecpus, and you’ve been having mental issues lately. I’ll take good care of you.”
I sensed the threat behind his gentle words, and my heart skipped a beat–not out of fear, but because I couldn’t believe he
dared to say such a thing.
“How dare you?”
