Chapter 11-1
Tessa’s POV
The hard knock on the door signaled Kane’s arrival before he let himself in to my room–considering that I had been too scared lock him out again after his earlier outburst..
As he stepped in,
his s
gaze swept over me, and for a fleeting moment caught a subtle hint of approval in his eyes as he gave me nothing but a single nod of approval.
H–Help me please?” I ask g gently, holding out the dainty gold necklace in which I had found hanging up on the makeup stand deciding to borrow it for just tonight…..
With that, the large male approaches me, taking such a delicate piece out of my hands and in to his much larger and rougher ones before I turn for him to place it around my neck thoping that he doesn’t snap the metal in the process).
He does so, taking a few moments to clasp it successfully – cursing under his breath a couple of times in the process as I bite back a giggle not wanting to upset him…
“Ready for dinner?” He asks, his tone slightly softer than usual probably covering up for his previous tantrum.
At least he tries… or so it seems he does anyway…
I nod, a small smile tugging at the corners of my lips as we move towards the hallway. The tension between us had shifted, if only slightly, leaving behind a curious blend of nerves and slight understanding for one another.
He was a dangerous creature, yet I was well aware that I could have landed myself with a male far worse than him… and so, t appreciated my spot here thus far as besides an achy wrist, I have enjoyed my time with him
He gestured towards his arm as a silent invitation, and I willingly accepted – hooking my hand through it to walk with him by his side.
The contact alone sent a shiver down my spine, not from fear but from the unexpected warmth that radiated from his simple touch.
Together, we descended the grand staircase, each step echoing in the opulent hallway as he led the way in a comfortable silence – his features set in stone.
We made our way to the dining room which began to unfold before my very eyes. The expansive rooms was home to a long wood table – decorated with great care and sophistication.
The chandeliers glittered above, casting a gentle glow over the expansive table adorned with fine china and crystal glasses. The room buzzed with new faces of waiting staff with orchestrated moverents as they rushed around and seemed to make preparations for tonight’s meal.
Kane guided me to the head of the table, a position of prominence. As he took his seat, I settled down comfortably in the one beside him, my eyes wide with awe at the grandeur surrounding us as I ran my hand along the soft white table cloth… drinking it all in.
The air was charged with a sense of anticipation, and I couldn’t wait for Erin’s arrival which had been the best gesture in which Kane had made towards me as of yet!

“Uh… K–Kane…” I spark the conversation whilst it is just us both in the room, gaining his attention as he cocks a brow at me curiously.

human, what is it that you want now?” mocks sarcastically, as I chew my lip anxiously.
Jeez… all I have to do is say thank you… why am I embarrassed?!
You need to quit doing that?” He suddenly groans gruffly, as my bros furrow together in confusion.
“S–Sorry… doing what?” I ask, as he shakes his head, his eyes trailing down to my mouth.
Biting that damy lip of yours… you’re killing me with that! He states bluntly, as I instantly release it from my teeth not knowing that it irritated him until now,

Chapter 11-2
Tim not doing so great at keeping on his good side today am I?!
“Well uh….. I just wanted to… say

Hy happy that you invited Erin tonight… so thank you.” I confirm my words with a
You almost didn’t stutter that time, you re getting better with whenever it comes through,
He speaks his thoughts, often picking up on my nervous stutter
I wonder why he’s so invested in my stutter? Maybe it annoys him and he’s hoping to get past it if he plans on keeping me around?
“Yeah sure… if bringing your friend here keeps you happy and keeps you following my rules then so be it because just remember… as quick as I can bring her here, I can get rid of her all the same.” His words completely catch me off guard, as my mouth falls open
and my eyes grow wide.
A moment passes, leaving me speechless, before he sniggers to himself shaking his head and throwing it back with an amused grin.
“Your face was a picture there!” He laughs, as my trembling hands seem to ease when realising that the statement was only intended to be lighthearted at least I hoped it was!
Our little moment was cut short at the arrival of Seth, the pack Beta who I had met earlier. Seth was the first to join us, taking the seat opposite me and beside Kane – his cheeky smile persisting from before.
His infectious energy added a lively touch to the room, and I exchanged a small smile with him as he greeted us both – pulling in his chair to get more comfortable.
Anthony followed suit moments later, entering with a quiet confidence as he studied the room before occupying the seat beside Seth – thankfully avoiding the one next to me which I had silently hoped to reserve for Erin.

During the wait, Kane signaled the private waiter over, and soon, a private made drinks menu appeared before me as I thanked the man–taking it from him softly.
The options were diverse and enticing, making my choice a delightful challenge as most of them on here included alcohol..
“Go for it… try another cocktail… He states, offering the substance to me once again since I had only had my first sip of alcohol the
previous night.
Seth suggests trying something called a ‘zombie to which I agree not wanting to be rude and say no. I was open to trying anything, as long as it was fruity!
The minutes stretched on, with each second filled with growing excitement before finally, Egin entered the room, her presence bringing a burst of new energy to my soul.
I couldn’t help but grin widely and straighten up at the sight of my best friend, her eyes sparkling as they find mine.

However, a sudden pang of concern shot through me as I noticed the stranger accompanying her as the large male steps in from behind her – casting a shadowy tower from above her.
I watched her visibly gulp, her small frame becoming slightly smaller from beneath him as I squinted at the sight of them both.

“Your invite is always appreciated for a dinner up here! The man Le chuckles, his voice gruff as he forces a smile towards Kane.
“Please sit!” Kane encourages,
ages, before asking the waiter to come back to take their drinks.

Chapter 11-3
Whilst Kane is distracted, I watch on as Erin attempts to navigate her way around the table to sit beside me, before her path is abruptly redirected by the imposing figure of the unfamiliar male – Len.
His arm roughly stopped her, before guiding her to sit down in another seat towards the end of the table, and a sudden wave of confusion and sadness flashed across Erin’s eyes as she shot me a quick pleading glance.
This is not good….
My heart sank as I realised something was amiss, and 1 exchanged a worried look with Erin. The atmosphere, once charged with excitement, now held an undercument of tension, leaving me yearning for an explanation and dreading the uncertainties that lay ahead…
Kane turns his attention hack to the table, as I turn to him, my eyes searching his for him to do something… anything…
He watches me cautiously, before shifting his gaze. “Why are you both so far away?!” Kane asks loudly, as Leo’s eyes widen a little at being called out.
Oh! I figured that we were still waiting for more guests! Thought I break up the space a bit – you know?” Leo plays it off well, chuckling as I noticeably see Erin tense at the sound of his laughter
What has he done to her….
She’s never this shy!
“Guess we better move up then! On you go, sit beside your friend!” go stands, pulling Erin up with him by her bicep before shoving her in the direction of me as she instantly collapses down in to the chair beside me.
Her eyes water a little, but I shake my head to signal for her to hold back. I look up, seeing that the men were in their own conversation… all except Seth who seemed to notice the current situation from opposite us…
This attention to detail explained why Seth was the Beta, he’s clearly observant- yet he only watches, remaining silent.
I take it upon myself to bug Erin, giving her a squeeze which she instantly returns before hearing her whisper in my ear – “Help
Two words which instantly crush my soul.
My eyes widen, as she pulls back and forces a smile, trying to play of the hug as being normal,
“A drink for the lady?” Kane poses, staring at Leo as I turn to see him scoff at the idea.
*A water and a whisky for myself.” Leo waves to the waiter to leave, as my heart sinks at the diffegunte in dynamics.
Now I felt incredibly guilty for ordering a delicious fruity cocktail, when Leo won’t even let Erin pick her own drink… what is his problems?!
My mind races to think of a plan, a way in which we can both spend some time together to allow me to get to the bottom of what was going on between them..
The bathroom maybe? But it will look suspicious if we go together won’t it.
“So who do we have bere Leo? Never seen you attend any judgment says until this year you know?” Seth speaks out, as Erin clutches my hand in hers from underneath the table in a silent plea for help

“Yeah I figured it’s the year forstart breeding if you know what I’m saying?” Leo laughs loudly, as Seth forces a laugh in response (or at least I hope it’s forced)
What a horrible way to refer to the soon to be possible mother of your children… breeding? Was this male actually real? I knew that some of them could be incredibly cruel but I had never actually witnessed it first hand!
And
just what is your name then human?” Seth asks her directly nay, as Erin gulps once–glancing to Leo before she speaks.
“Erin… sir.” She confirms quietly, her voice shaky and
different to her usual excited self.
“Nice to meet you Erin, welcome to our pack!” Seth reaches out to shake her hand, as she drops mine from beneath the table and shakes it to be polite- each of her movements seeming more cautious than necessary.

Chapter 11-4
Erin’s discomfort hung in the air as Seth continued with his small talk, trying to ease the tension that Leo had brought to the table.
Despite Seth’s efforts, the atmosphere remained heavy, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that something dark lurked beneath the
surface here.
As the waiter returned with their drinks, Leo took a sip of his whiskey, eyeing Erin closely. I observed the subtle signals between. them, the way Erin tensed when Lea’s hand brushed against hers acdentally only confirming that something was definitely
wrong.
Kane, sitting at the head of the table, seemed to pick up on the uncase but remained silent and emotionless – which saddened me a little as 1 longed for him to step in and help my friend.
Dinner quickly arrived, an array of
Texquisitely prepared dishes, yet the conversation around the table felt forced.
Erin picked at her food, her appetite clearly affected by the uncomfortable situation as I exchanged glances with her, trying to convey my silent support as often as I could.
“Don’t be fucking rude and eat it!” Leo leans towards her, sneering in her ear, before Erin nods and begins to shovel forkfuls in to her mouth – shocking me completely.
As we finished up, Erin excused herself for the restroom, and I seized the opportunity to attempt.

“I should probably go t–too… I force a giggle, as Kane’s eyes burn through mine knowingly.
I hope my sneaking around doesn’t piss him off too much but I must talk to my friend before she leaves…
The kind waitress guides the way, as we remain silent on the walk–thanking her as soon as we get there.

Once inside, Erin looked at me with pleading eyes – her fall face falling. “Tessa, he’s awful!” She cries, as I hush her and allow her to fall in to my arms.
My concern deepened as I listened to Erin’s words. “I’m going to be trapped with him forever! There’s nothing we can do!” Erin whines, her tone alone being enough to make my eyes water for her,
We can’t stay in here long either….
“I’ll do everything I can to help you, I promise! Where do you live? try and see you as often as I can! We will fix this! I state firmly, usually not being the one to pick us up however understand that right now, I need to!
We pull apart, as Erin grabs a tissue and dabs her face to ensure that she looks untouched.

“I don’t even want to go back there with him tonight… he’s sleazy and awful… he was a different man on our date last night Tessa and before I knew it, he forced me on the train and said we were leaving! I was terrified! You should see my room too, it’s a damın mattress on the floor.” Erin rushes the information at use, as I shake my head in upmost disgust.
Why was he being so cruel to her? She hasn’t done anything to him it makes me so mad to see her this way! But there’s nothing I can do… at least not yet….
“We better go back…” Erin panics a little, grabbing my hand and being us hack outside and down the hallway towards the dining

room once again.
Returning to the dining room, we resumed our seats, the tension escalating with every passing moment as Leo eyes us both warily.
“Well, we best get going now since it’s been a long day! Thanks for the great dinner! We will hopefully be back another night to so you again Alpha!” Leo stands, catching me off guard with the last word before I watch him reach across the table shaking Kane’s hand in his as my breathing hitches in the back of my throat at the sight.
Wait…
