Julius looked at Quiana but didn’t say anything.
By now, her tricycle had turned into an impromptu interview stage.
Standing there. Quiana’s bold, captivating gaze shone from beneath her baseball cap. Her fair skin glistened under the sun, flawless and striking.
She rested her hands on the makeshift platform, her intense eyes scanning the crowd as she said, “I don’t need anyone backing me.”

A group of uniformed officials parted the crowd, walking in with a commanding presence.
“Holy crap, it’s Grant Weston, Captain of the Criminal Investigation Department!”

“Even Chiel Pearson showed up in person? What kind of serious crime did Quiana commit?”
“And that’s Daniel Pacheco, the top forensic examiner from the Justice Bureau!”
“Isn’t that Quinn, the lawyer with an undefeated record?”
“They’re all here for Quiana? She must’ve done something horrendous!”
“Lock her up already! People like her are a waste of space!”
These officials‘ steps tightened the atmosphere, leaving the crowd on edge. The reporters, snapping out of their initial shock, surged forward.
“Chief Pearson, just what earth–shattering crime has Quiana Levine committed to warrant this level of response?”
Maxon frowned, giving the reporters a stern look. “Who said I’m here to arrest Quiana?”
The crowd paused, baffled. Then what’s with all the commation?
Then someone speculated, “It must be classified. They’re keeping quiet for now. We got it.”
“As long as they arrest hert Hopefully, she won’t ever be rereleased.”
Pearson ignored the crowd and signaled for Grant to hold them back
“Chief… Chief Pearson… Simon stantmered, hurrying forward. “Quiana has no connection to the Larson family. We’re about to turn her in.”
Without sparing him a glance, Maxon nodded respectfully toward Julius. “Mr. Hawley.”
Quinn and Daniel also greeted him politely

Zack was surprised. “What brings Chief Pearson here in person?”
Maxon looked at Quiana and replied, “A matter of business.”
Known for his relentless dedication and nearly superhuman record, Maxon Pearson was the last person anyone expected to show situation. Only something serious could bring him here.
But today….
Zack chuckled softly, “Looks like Julius was prepared for this.
Julius‘ gaze deepened. “He wasn’t here on my request.”

“Assistance?” Murmurs of disbelief rippled through the crowd.
One battled reporter asked, “Chief Pearson, what is happening?”

Before he could finish, Grant raised a loudspeaker and addressed the onlookers. “While I don’t know how today’s social media storm started, I’m here to clarity: Quiana Levine has not broken any laws.”
The crowd went silent for a moment.
“What? No way she didn’t break the law il Chief Pearson came with this many people”

Daniel took the loudspeaker, his deep voice booming. “Last night, I invited Ms. Levine to the Justice Bureau to assist with an autopsy”

“Quiana does autopsies? You’re joking, right?”
Disbelief washed over everyone. Even Simon and Mandy exchanged looks of pure shock. “Dr. Pacheco, could you be mistaken?”
Winona clenched her fingers tightly.
Grant pressed on. “We’re here today to clarify that Ms. Levine was at the Justice Bureaur last night as a forensic expert, not a suspect.”
Quinn continued, “Without any concrete information, people hurled accusations and insults based on a few misleading images.” He turned to the crowd,
his voice firm “Spreading rumors has no consequences, but the law will ensure you face the repercussions.”

The reporters, who hadn’t recovered from one shock, were hit with another.
Winona’s face went ghostly.
Simon and Mandy stepped forward. “Chief Pearson, you can’t make baseless accusations.
Maxon’s uniform seemed to emit a formidable aura under the sun. “Every word speak, every action take, is in service to the truth.”
Mandy’s voice wavered. “Winona?”

Laughter nearly escaped the crowd but was stifled.
Maxon ignored them, addressing Quiana. “What’s your take on this?” it was clear he intended to follow her lead.
Quiana crossed one leg over the other, resting an elbow on the cart as she scanned Simon, Mandy, and Winona with a cool, assessing gaze.
Mandy pulled Winona close, her voice soft and imploring “Quiana, Wisona is your sister. She’d never harm you.”
Simon, snapping out of his daze, shot Quiana a harsh look. “I don’t question Chief Pearson, but believe in my own daughter.”
Daniel raised a brow, “Isn’t Quiana your daughter too?”
Simon blanched. “Yes…”
Daniel’s gaze was icy. “Funny how your faith inyour daughter doesn’t extend to Quiana,”
Simon’s face darkened.
Winona clung to Mandy, her voice trombling. “Mom, I didn’t…”

Quinn, standing nearby, cleared his throat. “I am a lawyer,”
Everyone fell silent.
He was a lawyer, but he was Quiana’s lawyer.
And given Quinn’s reputation, no one in the legal field would dare to stand against him.
