“I think she’s just desperate to become famous!”
The discussion continued.
It was indeed a chance to disqualify Quiana. However, the show’s first episode was topping the charts on all major platforms. Everyone knows all that buzz was because of Quiana. The show’s hype would probably plummet if they disqualified her before the second performance.
The head of production pondered and finally came up with a solution. “Reset her votes to zero and post on Twitter that—”
“It has stopped.” Jasper, the assistant who had been tracking the data, suddenly spoke. The numbers, which had been increasing steadily, suddenly stopped at 1,500,000 votes.
“Even though the first episode was a hit, her votes was surging too much. If we don’t handle it well, the audience will definitely resist even more, accusing us of blatant cheating. There’s no way we can explain it to Star Entertainment, too.”
“I suggest we should just disqualify her-”
While a few people were talking, Jasper suddenly exclaimed, “The vote counts for others are also starting to increase!”
About ten seconds after Quiana’s votes stopped, the numbers on the voting leaderboard started to change again. But this time, the votes of over seventy other trainees rapidly increased too.
In less than two minutes, Lucy climbed to the top with over 2,000,000 votes. Everyone else also surpassed the million mark. The numbers continuously increased, as if they were competing for who had the strongest cheats.
“What’s happening?” Everyone was stunned.
The director snapped back to reality and quickly called the technical team, but the latter was also in chaos.
“The backend’s been remotely hijacked. It’s completely out of control. We’re trying to fix it now. Who would attack us?” the
technical team said.
The head producer’s face fell. Everyone else in the conference room was equally dumbfounded.
“The system crashed!” Jasper shouted again.
