Chapter 208
Paul noticed how people were looking at him, thus snorting and fixing his gaze on Julius. His attitude became more polite than before. “Mr. Edward Hawley asks for you
Julius turned off his phone. The flashy gold case was tacky, completely out of place with his refined demeanor. “Let’s go, he said placidly
Nodding, Leo pushed the wheelchair and followed Paul inside. Shane and Zack, however, stopped right outside the doorway. The intricately carved vintage wooden door shut tight. Not a sound could be heard from inside.
The crowd exchanged confused glances, whispering among themselves, ‘Is Mr. Edward Hawley really kicking the bucket?”
Another chimed in. “Wasn’t that miracle pill supposed to cure all diseases? How did Mr. Edward Hawley get into trouble after taking it?”
“Dr. Spence wouldn’t lie, would he?” asked somebody.
Another person remarked, “If Mr. Edward Hawley truly is on his last legs, then meeting Julius this final time must be about the inheritance, right?”
Silence ensued.
Edward was nearly 70 and had always doted on Julius, his son born late in life. Seeing him bedridden and hearing Paul’s words, it was hard for anybody not to judge the old man’s health.
Derek and Joshua listened to the gowip, grimacing with clenched fists as they stared at the door.
The Hawley family was a formidable household across Clusia. Despite Derek’s and Joshua’s efforts, neither had gained any advantage, and Edward entrusting the Hawley family to the sickly Julius would only make the pair the laughingstocks.

Inside, two apprentices of Paul were tinkering with medical equipment; Edward, who was having a final surge of life according to Paul, was half–reclined on the bed. He was intently focused on something on his tablet with narrowed eyes.
Hearing the noise, he did not even glance up. “I heard Quiana joined a talent show.”
Julius leaned back casually. “What? Do you want to vote now?”
Thud
The equipment in Paul’s apprentices‘ hands also dropped following Julius‘ reply. The apprentices were stunned, their expressions blank. Startled back to reality, they apologized, “Sorry! Sorry! It slipped from our hands!”
Mill, shock never faded from their eyes. Never could any of them have imagined someone like Julius of high status to utter words like “vote now!
Paul, too, was momentarily stunned, but then he remembered how Shane, who was obsessed with perfecting medical skills, had been voting online every day lately. Paul unwittingly twitched his lips and signaled his apprentices. “Leave us.”
The two picked up the equipment and held their breath as they exited. Leo, for one, touched his nose and thought, ‘Mr. Julius Hawley has been immersing himself in the entertainment industry. Blurting out a trendy phrase is only natural. No

Edward glanced at Julius and raised an eyebrow. “You are interested in her now, aren’t you?”
The official account of Miracle Show released yet another promotional photo. It was a girl in a pink outfit of some girl

group, the pleated skirt barely covering her thighs. Her long legs were alluring and tanned.
Not only that, her hair was slightly curly, with a roguish charm in her gaze and posture, blending mischief with a hint of haughtiness and a bold flair. Her mesmerizing eyes could captivate souls, so to speak.
A pucker creased Julius‘ forehead. He looked away from those legs in the photo as he saved the photo, then casually answered, “She’s my fiancée, anyway.”
Edward put down the tablet and sighed. “As long as you’re into her, then that girl and the Larson family-”
Looking up. Julius flaunted a mysterious charm with the ghost of a smile playing about his lips. His tone was laid–back yet determined. “I have my eye on her, not the Larson family.”
Edward glanced at Julius, his gaze falling on the latter’s legs. Deep in his cloudy eyes was a hint of guilt as he voiced softly, “I’ve let you down.”
