The entire Hawley manor was packed with people, yet nobody made a sound until someone reported outside, “Mr. Julius Hawley is here.”
Leo wheeled Julius inside, with Zack following behind.
Everyone greeted them, but the tension in the room intensified.
Julius covered his mouth with a handkerchief and coughed twice before weakly asking. “How’s it going?”
Everyone was gathered around because Edward’s health had deteriorated again.
Shane came over and shook his head. “Not good,” he said seriously.
Joshua rushed over, his voice filled with emotion. “Julius, you’re just in time! Don’t you have the pill? Give it to Dad quickly!”
Julius raised his gaze darkly, the mole at the corner of his eye adding to his indifferent demeanor. “I don’t have it,” he said.
Derek narrowed his eyes and walked over, looking down at him sternly. He said, “Julius, I don’t care if you don’t usually cooperate, but this time, Dad’s life is at stake.”
“I don’t have it,” Julius repeated indifferently.
“You don’t?” Derek’s expression changed. Something flickered in his eyes as he squinted. “I heard you spent sixty million dollars to buy ten pills from Quiana.”
“Ten pills?” Joshua’s eyes widened. He had no idea about the matter.
The drug’s origins were mysterious, and it was known as a miracle pill. They couldn’t even buy one on the black market for fifteen million dollars. Yet, Julius had ten of them. Everyone in the room looked over in shock.
Julius remained calm as he said, “I ate them all.
Everyone was speechless. After all, one pill could save a life. However, Julius ate ten of them. ‘Did he think they were candies? they thought.
The effects of this drug aren’t stable, but each dose can last for half a month. As far as I know, you only bought them half a month ago, Derek said indifferently.
“Exactly, Julius. Those are medicines, not candies. You can’t just gobble them up. If you have more, hand them over. Dad’s life depends on you!” Joshua chimed in. It was a rare occasion that Joshua took Derek’s side.
Julius leaned back with a somber expression. He replied nonchalantly, “I wanted to test the effect of taking all ten at once. Is there a problem?”
Everyone was at a loss for words. Julius was obviously making things difficult for them.
Derek’s expression darkened as he called out sharply, “Julius Hawley! Dad has always favored you the most. Now that you have the pill, you only care about yourself and ignore him. Do you really want to watch him die?”
The Hawley brothers seemed harmonious, but in reality, each was more spiteful than the other. If anyone wanted Julius dead, it was definitely his brothers.
Zack couldn’t hold back a sneer. He said, “Julius never said anything like that. Stop trying to shift the blame on him!”
However, consuming all ten pills was too unrealistic for anyone to believe.

Joshua pressed his lips together and said earnestly, “Julius, I know you can’t walk and have had congenital deficiencies since birth. This medicine won’t enable you to stand and is ineffective against your congenital issues. Dad’s illness is the priority right now. You don’t need to give us all the pills; one will suffice.”
Julius was indifferent and seemed emotionally detached. However, the others couldn’t stand it and agreed with Joshua and Derek.
“Mr. Joshua Hawley is right. He’s just asking you to spare one pill to save Mr. Edward Hawley’s life, not all of them,” someone chimed in.
“This is not just anyone; he is your father! You have plenty, and just giving one could save his life. How can you refuse?” another questioned.
“Mr. Julius Hawley, your father was still concerned about your marriage despite his illness. No matter what, you’re still his son. Just one pill-” another argued.
