67 Bonus Chapter 3
5 Years Later
Lily and Drake
“Auntie Lily, can we go see the wolves? I want to see nana and papa,” Leann says. Leann is Colton and Arina’s five–year–old daughter. Arina is due any day with their second child and I offered to give them a break because the little one never stops. “I don’t see why not. Why don’t you go ask if Liam, Lila, Daniel, and Diane want to come with us?” She squeals before she
takes off through our door.
Deep masculine laughter sends a shiver down my spine. When Drake steps through the door, I can’t stop the smile that spreads across my face. “I take it you told her she could visit the
pack. She was chattering this morning when you were getting dressed for the day about
seeing the wolves,” he says as he pulls me into his arms. We haven’t talked about starting to try for a pup yet, but I can see it in his eyes when he spends time with the pups, he’s ready.

If he only knew that we really didn’t have to try. I’m honestly just as ready as he is. We both
have a handle on our duties and as much as I love it just being us, seeing him with the little
ones has stoked an ache inside of me to have a pup of our own. When I went to the hospital a
few days ago about stopping my birth control, I got quite a surprise to learn I was already
pregnant.
When I asked Bethany how the hell it happened she threw her head back and laughed. “After all you know that the goddess can do, this is what you question,” she said. I laughed because
she is definitely right. Now I just have to figure out how to tell Drake. I want it to be special.
“Hey, where did you go my love,” Drake asks, bringing me back to the moment.
“Sorry, Ariel was chewing my ear off about seeing Zora and Gideon.“A low growl makes me
chuckle. “I wish I could join you, but I promised to observe the elite trials today. Maybe, depending on how long it takes, I can join you after” he says. “I’m sure my parents would love to see you.” He presses a searing kiss on my lips before he heads out.
I place a hand over my still flat belly. It’s still surreal to think that a part of me and Drake is growing in my womb. The sound of heavy footsteps and giggles breaks me out of my thoughts. “Auntie Lily, Mimi Jasmine said they could go,” Lila says. Everyone rushes toward me wrapping their arms around my middle. “Thank you for letting us come, Lily,” Diane says.
“You’re welcome” I say before I wave my hand, creating my signature red portal. When we step through the portal and into the clearing, a loud growl has me turning to face five rogue wolves.

How the f**k did they get this far into the territory without being noticed? The sounds of sobs
next to me reminds me that I’m not alone. I push the children behind me as the larger of the
rogues shifts into a dirty middle–aged man.
“What the f**k are you? Some type of mixed breed b**ch‘ he says. I can’t stop the laugh that escapes me. “Boy, you picked the wrong day to wander into the Blue Crescent Pack.““Why is that,’ he asks with a smug smile. “Pain” I say, and he falls to the ground. “Why because I’m the
Queen of Elves and this is my home. His screams attract the attention of pack members, and
it doesn’t take long for Gideon to break through the trees.
His growl fills the air as the other four wolves whimper. He shifts and quickly pulls on a pair of
shorts. He presses a quick kiss on my forehead before he faces the rogues. “Pain stop” I say,
and the man begins to quiet down. “You have trespassed into Blue Crescent pack. Shift now”
he says. The other four wolves shift and I gasp. They can’t even be a month from their
eighteen birthdays. Two girls and two boys who look like they haven’t eaten for days.
“Please sir, we didn’t have a choice. This man forced us to come here” one of the boys says.
His aura is completely white. I look at the other three who are huddled close to the boy that
had just spoken. All three auras are white as snow, but the man on the ground doesn’t have a
shred of decency in him. “Who is this man to you?” “He was a rogue that took us from the
orphanage we all grew up in when we were pups. He said we owed him loyalty,” one of the
young girls says.
I growl wanting to kill the ba**ard myself. A warm hand on my forearm has me looking at my father. “Take the pups to the pack house. Your mother made unicorn cupcakes. I’ll deal with this,” he says. There is something in his words that has me wondering if he sensed the pup.
“Their auras are white except for the ba**ard that took them.“He smiles and nods. He turns to
face them.
“Guards take him to the cells. The four of you will be accepted into the pack as members and will be given a place to stay along with work to do.” Tears run down the girls‘ cheeks as the boys nod their acceptance. “That was crazy,” Daniel says, reminding me that the pups are still behind me. I lead them to the pack house and my mother is waiting in the kitchen.
Lila squeals and wraps herself around my mother’s middle. We spend the afternoon eating cupcakes and visiting. I caught my father looking at me with a mixture of sadness and love.
When the kids were occupied for a few minutes, I took the seat next to him. “What’s wrong dad?” “Nothing Lily bear. Everything is very much right,” he says. “Then why do you look sad?”
“I just realized how grown up you are today. I knew it was inevitable, but it’s hard to picture your pup as anything but your little girl” he says. “Why are you feeling that way today?” He

gives me a knowing smirk. “How could you possibly know?” “I can hear their heartbeat. You
are my Lily bear and I know your heartbeat. I know all my pups‘ heartbeat. The minute I stepped close to you today I could feel it,” he says.
“I haven’t told Drake yet.” “He is going to be thrilled. He is a good man. When everything happened with Colton, I had such guilt about keeping what we knew a secret and I was so
angry with the goddess. A parent is supposed to protect their pup but there we were adding to your pain. When you left to rescue Drake, I felt lost. You were a piece of me and watching you leave gutted me,” he says.
I can’t stop the tears that are streaming down my cheeks. “Seeing you find Drake and the love
you were always meant to have healed that guilt and pain. I still miss you like crazy even
though I see you all the time because it will never be enough, but I’m grateful every day for the
joy and love you have found. I’m excited about being a papa. I love you Lily bear” he says.
I climb onto his lap like I did when I was a little kid and for a moment I’m five. I’m five and the
only thing in my world is my daddy. He presses a kiss on my forehead, and we stay like that
for a long time. “Do I get any of this love today,” my mom says and I giggle. I stand and she
pulls me into her arms. I lean close to her ear and whisper, “I love you, mom, and so will my
pup.” She pulls back her eyes big. I can see she is about to scream.
“No one can know. I haven’t even told my mate yet. I’m telling you first because dad figured it out. We can have a big dinner to announce it but until then its our secret.”She nods before she
pulls me back into her arms. We enjoy the rest of the visit until it’s time to return to the kingdom. Once we step back through the portal, the pups take off, heading back to their parents and I plop down on the couch.
Absent mindedly, my hand goes to my belly and I begin to rub circles. “Hey little one. I don’t know if you can hear me yet, but I’m your mom. I can’t even begin to tell you who excited I am about meeting you. Your dad is going to be over the moon when I tell him.““Yes he is,” Drake says from behind me. I damn near jumped out of my skin in surprise. I turn as he closes the distance between us. “You’re pregnant” he says as he drops to his knees in front of me.
“I am. I was going to do something special to tell you, but I guess the wolf is out of the bag“l say with a giggle. He presses his head to my stomach and I rest my hand on his head. “Knowing that our baby is safely growing here is special. I’m going to be a dad” he says, almost choking on the words. “Yes, you are, and an amazing one.” He lifts his head and his eyes meet mine. “I love you, Lily. I love you so much and I love this child. You are my savior and the love of my life, my queen,” he says. “I love you Drake. You are my heart and my king.”
