I still can’t believe my parents are here. Never in a million years did I expect them to walk through the doors. When my dad finally sets me on my feet, my eyes find Colton smiling like a fool. “I knew you were going to freak out when Drake suggested bringing Rosie and Beck here for your ceremony tomorrow” he says. I turn and take the few steps to close the distance

between Drake and me.

I wrap my arms around his neck and pull his lips down to mine. A low growl makes me giggle. “Beckham Forestor, don’t you growl at them. She can kiss her mate any time she wants” my mother says. This time I pull back and laugh. I take Drake’s hand, leading him over to my parents. “Drake, this is my mother, Rosalyn, and this is my father, Beckham.Mom and dad, this is my mate, Drake Whitlock, King of the Elves.”

“It is a pleasure to meet you, your majesty” my mother says. “Please, we are family. I will never be anything but Drake to you and Beckham,” Drake says. My mother blushes and father

grumbles. Drake extends his hand to my father, who takes it without hesitation. “It’s a pleasure to meet you sir” he says. “I’m pleased to meet you as well, Drake, but make no mistake, king or not, if you hurt my daughter you’ll deal with me,” my father says.

Despite his words, I can see his acceptance of my mate in his eyes. It doesn’t stop my mother from slapping his arm. “Beck, behave yourself. I can already tell he loves our daughter madly” she says. “I do Rosalyn. She is my everything and I promise you both here, and now I will spend the rest of my life making her happy and showing her how much I love her every day,”

he says.

Ariel purrs and I fight the urge to roll my eyes. We make our way over to the table and I introduce my parents to everyone else. Jasmine and my mother get along like a house on fire. I have a feeling that Jasmine will be joining us for our visits to the pack. “So you can turn into a big wolf like Liam,” Daniel asks my dad. “Yes, Gideon is big with black fur. Maybe before we return to the pack, Rose and I can show you our wolves,” my dad says.

“That sounds amazing. Can we run with them,” Ariel pleads. With everything that’s happened, I realize Ariel hasn’t had the opportunity to meet Drake in her own form. “I think that would be a great idea. After dinner, we can shift and run in the clearing outside the castle. Ariel is excite about spending time with Gideon and Zora, but she would really like time with her mate,” say threading my fingers with Drake’s.

I see the flash of excitement in his eyes at the idea of spending time with Ariel. “I can’t wait,

my love. After we’re done, the royal servants have arranged for you and our guests to choose dresses for tomorrow’s ceremony” he says before he leans in, pressing a kiss on my lips. The

rest of dinner my parents enjoy telling stories about when we were pups and getting to know

our new family. Colton and I laugh about the trouble we got into as pups and, for the first time in a long time, I feel like I have my best friend back.

Seeing him with Arina and knowing how much I love Drake makes all the suffering we both went through worth it. I look at my mother and I swear she reads my thoughts as she offers me a soft smile. As soon as we finish dinner, Diane and Daniel are practically bouncing all the way through the castle at the aspect of meeting our wolves.

I notice guards posted near the path that leads to the clearing. When I look at Drake he smiles. “I want this experience away from prying eyes. The kingdom will get the opportunity to meet Ariel soon enough, but right now this is about our family,” he says. Goddess, I love this elf. Once we reach the clearing, Colton, Liam, and my father start to strip and everyone

immediately turns away. I can’t help the giggle that escapes me.

“Guys, they aren’t used to the nudity like we are.“Matilda smiles when I motion for her to join us behind the trees. Mom shifts first and Zora rubs her head against me. “What is your wolf’s name Matilda?” “Her name is Cora” she says. I can tell Matilda is nervous, but she quickly strips and shifts into a medium–sized chocolate brown wolf. Her wolf approaches me with her head down like she is bowing to me. I reach out, stroking the top of her head. She steps back

and Ariel pushes forward.

Once our shift is complete, she shakes out our fur. Zora nuzzles Ariel for a moment before we all trot out of the trees. My father, Liam, and Colton are already playing with the twins. I watch as Cora slowly approaches Artruo, who is looking at his mate with pride and love. When she is close enough for him to touch, he wraps his arms around her neck.

I make my way over to Drake, who is staring at Ariel like she is his everything. He doesn’t wait for us to reach him as he rushes toward us. He runs his hand through our red fur. The tingles erupt on our side as he moves around our body. “You are magnificent, Ariel,” he says, and she purrs. “Wolves don’t purr” I say teasing her. “They do when their s*xy mate is making them all hot and bothered. I hope you know after this, tonight is my turn to have control when we make

love to our mate,” Ariel says.

“I think that’s only fair.” She leans down nuzzling her head against Drake’s face. We end up running and playing with the twins before we shift back. When we finish, I head to our room to freshen up so we can try on dresses. Part of me is excited about getting dressed up, but the

other part is nervous about being crowned tomorrow.

When I step out of the shower, Drake is waiting in the room we have been sharing. After the

ceremony, we will be moving into our permanent wing. I can tell by the look on his face

something is bothering him. When I left him, he couldn’t stop smiling, but now he looks angry.

“What’s wrong, Drake?” “I just finished meeting with Tabitha. She has spoken with her father

about what happened in the Royal Court. He plans on attending the ceremony to deal with her

for choosing to break her bond with that pr*ck,” he says.

I growl despite knowing that neither Drake nor I will allow him to do anything to his daughter. “She was distraught, and I can only imagine that her father is an abusive ba**ard like the

beloved he chose for her,” he says. “I will have her join us to pick out a dress. No matter what

happens, he will not hurt her. Hell if he doesn’t allow her to lead the tribe that is her birthright

I knock on the guest room door and when she opens it I can tell she has been crying. “My

queen” she says, wiping her cheeks quickly. “Tabitha, please just call me Lily. This isn’t a

formal setting and I much prefer you use my name.”“What can I do for you, Lily?” “Myself and

my family are going to pick out dresses for the ceremony tomorrow. I would like you to join

us.”

“Oh, I couldn’t impose on your time with your family” she says. “I insist. I want you to join us.

I’d like to get to know about your tribe and how you plan to lead when we appoint you the new

leader.” She looks at me like I have ten heads. “The tribe is your birthright, Tabitha. Your fathe has no right to take that away simply because you don’t have a p*nis.” She giggles and covers

her mouth. She nods and steps into the hallway.

We make our way down to a large fitting room that is lined with dresses of all different shapes

and designs. Everyone is already there with a woman that I assume is going to help us try on

the dresses. As we begin to start looking through the racks, I realize that Auriella isn’t with us.

“Arina, where is your sister?“Auriella went to bring my mother to join us” she says. “I’m

excited to meet your mom. I know your father said she was away when we visited your tribe.”

“My mother is fae. It’s the reason that Artruo, Auriella, and I all have powers. She was disappointed that she didn’t get the chance to meet you and Drake. She was so happy that I had found my beloved, but she was disappointed she wasn’t there to meet him. She can’t wait

to meet, Colton,” Arina says.

“I know that you have the power of sight and Artruo has the power to slow time. What is

Auriella’s power?” Before she can answer, a portal appears and Auriella steps through,

I smile, but before I can say a word about her ability to portal, Tabitha gasps and starts to move toward the door. Before I can ask her what’s wrong, I hear the whispered word that has me stopping in my tracks. “Beloved,” Auriella says. Her eyes are full of sadness as she stares at the door that Tabitha had just stepped through. “She doesn’t want me” Auriella says, her voice cracking with each word. “That’s not true.
