Chapter 8
Clutching her belly, Lyanna curled up on the floor in pain, unable to utter a word.
Alaric, still in a rage, kept kicking her. Every blow landed squarely on her stomach.
Before long, a pool of blood had spread beneath her.
Realizing it was over, Lyanna started laughing wildly. “Alaric, this is your retribution! Your retribution, hahahaha!”
Alaric grabbed her by the collar, his bloodshot eyes bulging with fury. “I did everything I could to marry you, to make you the second princess. When I become emperor, you would’ve been queen! What more could you have possibly wanted? Why would you do this to me?”
Lyanna’s expression twisted into something grotesque.
“Because I hated you.”
“I never cared about becoming queen. My husband… he was already dead–killed by you.”
“Three years ago, he climbed a mountain to gather herbs for me. You mistook him for a thief and shot him like an animal. Then you said he was unlucky, that he ruined your mood.”
“My husband… he died just like that. For nothing. I couldn’t accept it. I wanted revenge–blood for blood.”
She pointed at Lucian. “Elira was right. The child is his. I would rather carry the child of the lowest, dirtiest man alive than bear a child for you. You don’t deserve it.”
Alaric’s blood boiled with rage, and he vomited a mouthful of blood on the spot.
Suddenly, as if struck by a realization, he looked at Lyanna in disbelief.
“You poisoned me, didn’t you?”
“Give me the antidote!”
Lyanna’s face twisted into a satisfied smile.
“It was arsenic. There is no antidote. You’re going to die coughing blood, just like you deserve.”
She started laughing again.
Alaric nearly lost his mind. He couldn’t believe the woman he had loved for two lifetimes hated him so much–so much that she wanted him dead.
And the woman he had hated for two lifetimes–me–had been innocent all along.
In his past life, he had killed his own wife and unborn child for this woman.
Alaric could no longer contain his rage. He grabbed a blade from one of his guards and stabbed it into Lyanna without hesitation.

Watch it for eight hours a day and you won’t get bored. Watch now…..
Lyanna just smiled as blood and tears streamed down her face.
Soon, she collapsed into a pool of blood.
Alexander frowned and reached out, instinctively trying to cover my eyes so I wouldn’t have to witness such a gruesome
sight
But just as he lifted his hand, he remembered–I couldn’t see anymore.
Alaric, drained and breathless, threw down the knife and staggered toward me.
But his body gave out. He fell to the ground, blood pouring from his mouth in torrents.
He reached out to me, struggling to say something.
But I couldn’t see a thing.
