A low grunt left my lips as I raised my hands up, rolling to the other side of the bed–floor. I opened my eyes, staring at the white walls around in the room. I was still in the ritual room. I groaned, snapping my neck which felt a little stiff to the other side. Someone was lying next to me with her body curled up, but that wasn’t what caught my attention. She was in only a bra, and underwear that barely covered her ass.

I didn’t need to look at the face. It was the little witch. Memories of the past night rushed into my head, overwhelming me. I inhaled, controlling the beast raging inside me as I stared at her tempting body. For the past three years, I haven’t felt drawn to anyone, except Ginny who was still Aurora.

Why was I lusting after her? She’s a witch. Witches were partly responsible for my ‘madness‘ in the past. My parents had been eager to find solutions to break the curse on our lineage, and sort for help from the Ivaria witches. But they only made it worst. They were the reason I couldn’t communicate to Shadow in the beginning.

She sneezed, rubbing her hand on face before making herself more smaller if it was possible. She was cold. I clicked my tongue, staring at her back in deep thoughts.

I sighed, inching closer to her, and wrapping my arms around her body. She turned around, leaning into my chest instinctively. She smelt like roses.

I know she was drawn to me, but I didn’t think it was that deep. I was cold to her, and even threatened to end her life, yet she wasn’t scared. She stayed by my side, and calmed me down last night. I didn’t know what it was about her that stabilized me or what made me act more aggressive than usual. The words she whispered in my ears repeatedly popped into my head, like I said it before. To someone who was undoubtedly Aurora.

It was just a coincidence.

I tilted my head, resting it in her head as I held her tighter. My claws had appeared last night. That means the curse was broken, but I didn’t feel Shadow. He was still lost somewhere deep inside my consciousness. My nails dig into her flesh causing her to whimper in her sleep. I lowered my eyes to her face that scrunched in pain.

What the fuck am I even doing? I was feeling considerate towards a fucking witch? I wasn’t normal last night. It was undoubtedly the curse binding spell that set me off in ways I couldn’t imagine.

Had I been tricked by her? Had they all lured me into their traps? Ginny wouldn’t do that to me. I’m sure it was all her. How had I allowed myself fall into her trap?

I sneered in anger, glaring at the little witch’s head. I throw her off my body, hovering into hers. I drew my claws, shocked it had elongated but I didn’t dwell on it. I fixated my eyes on my prey with a stoic expression.

“You’re more vicious than I thought.” I muttered with a bitter smile, inching my claws closer to her. Her eyes fluttered opened slowly as though sensing the danger. My hand paused mid air as I staring into her dark brown eyes.

“Kaiden?” She mumbled innocently. Her face wrinkled in uncertainty as she raised her hand to rub her eyes, but I caught it.

“How dare you?” I growled, clenching her hand tightly till she snap out of her drowsiness.

“What did I do this time?” She asked so innocent, but I wasn’t stupid to fall for the pretense.

It was just like the first time we had met. She was far more sneaky than I imagined. She looked so harmless that made me feel a little guilty for my actions. But she wasn’t, she had the greatest strength. Her deceits.

“You lied to me.” It wasn’t a question. She tried to defend herself but I cut her off, clasping my hand on her neck tightly.

“Why had I trusted your words?” My eyes reddened as the anger coursed through my veins, pure and raw. I had let my guard down around her, and look what happened to me.

“Please. Stop.” She choked in a plea, her hands punching my chest in a weak attempt to escape. She threw her legs in the air, her body shaking violently in fear.

“You deserve death, little witch.” I declared in fury, pushing my claws into her neck.

“Ughhhh.” She shrieked, her pain strike voice tearing the room, but I didn’t stop, until I felt a liquid drop on my hand. Then another. She was bawling.

As though bewitched by her teary face, I released my hand on her neck, scooting back in guilt. She wrapped her arms around her body, averting my eyes before slowing scrambling her feet.

I watched her with unease as her hands fumble with the dress in her hand. She was shit scared, and I wasn’t happy about it. I hated her guts, but seeing her all shaky left a sour feeling in my chest.

She hurried to the door, finally wearing her dress, and storming out of the room with soft sobs. I shook my head, snapping my eyes back to the room.

What is this feeling? What the fuck is wrong with me? It wasn’t the first time I was letting her off the hook, and it always had to do with her tears. In some twisted way, I hate seeing her cry. My chest clenched each time I saw her tear up, like I was hurting myself.
