had nearly crushed him.
Then, Vivian appeared, offering to face everything with him.
Three years was a long time. Anyone would develop feelings, even with a dog, let alone Vivian, who treated him unbelievably well.
So, in that final week, he indulged himself and hurt me.
This was the price of his own mistakes. He had no one to blame but himself.
Owen pried Vivian’s hands off him, his voice steady and firm. “Vivian, I have only ever loved Shannon. Whatever happened
before… just consider it an act of betrayal.”
“No… No!”
No matter how she pleaded, he walked away without looking back. She pounded her fists against the floor in frustration, realizing that she had lost him forever.

Owen eventually found me. The man who had taken me was Jerry Lane, a doctor I had previously consulted.
My test results revealed other concerning issues, so he went to my workshop to check on me, only to arrive too late. As a responsible doctor, he couldn’t just leave me there. He brought me to the hospital, where he not only treated me but also tried to help me recover my memories.
When Owen and Luca arrived, I was feeding a stray cat in the hospital’s garden. A tall man wrapped me in a tight embrace the next instant while a child clung to my leg. Both of them sobbed uncontrollably, their tears and snot soaking into my hospital
gown.
“Honey, I’ve finally found you!”
“Mom, I was wrong! I won’t play those games with you again! Please forgive me and come home! I love listening to your bedtime
stories the most!”
I stood there awkwardly, waiting for them to finish crying.
Once they had calmed down, I hesitated before asking, “Excuse me… but who are you?”
Owen froze, his expression utterly stunned. For a few seconds, he was completely speechless.
“Shannon… you don’t remember us?” His voice trembled. “Are you still mad at me? I swear, I genuinely had no memory of
anything before… but now I remember everything! I came back for you! I love you! Please… come home with me!”
He spoke so sincerely that it seemed he wished to take out his heart and show it to me.
But I simply blinked, unfazed. “Who exactly are
you?”
