Chapter 9
Celeste POV
The car was eerily quiet Marina’s voice came clearly through Dominic’s phone, full of anxiety, and I distinctly heard her say the name “Jamie.”
My heart trembled as a distant memory resurfaced–the day I’d excitedly held the pregnancy test report, rushing Into Dominic’s arms.
“Dominic, you’re going to be a father! I’ve already thought of a name. If it’s a girl, Jenna; and if it’s a boy, Jamie. What do you think?”
I desperately wished I’d heard incorrectly, but Doresc met my gaze directly, answering without hesitation, “His
name is Jamie.”
“You bastard!” My hand instinctively flew up, slapping him hard across the face. This time, he didn’t dodge, quietly enduring the strike.
“You let her name her child after ours!” My

My lost child was the last sacred territory within my heart, and
within my heart, and now even that was desecrated. Blinded by grief, I
lunged at Dominic, pounding my fists against his chest.
“You demon! Why did the Moon Goddess take our baby’s life instead of
died?”

I struck him over and over, screaming hysterically, “He doesn’t deserve that name!”
Dominic’s strong hands captured my wrists, restraining my movements as he commanded Lucas coldly, “Drive to the Noble Springs Residence.”
Deration rose in me. We were already so close to the Werewolf Civil Hall. I struggled harder in his grasp. “No! Wre almost at the hall. If you must leave, it’ll be after our divorce!”
“The child’s fever isn’t subsiding,” Dominic said icily, “I have to be there immediately.”
“My father is unconscious in the hospital–doesn’t that matter? Debt collectors are harassing me relentlessly. I can’t even step foot in the hospital right now. Is your child’s life precious, while my father’s means nothing?” I shared i fury.
At the mention of Anthony, Dominic’s face turned dangerously cold. “Is Anthony even worthy of being compared to Jamie?”
Enraged beyond reason, I tried to slap him again, but he caught my wrists firmly, his deep voice thundering, “Celeste, haven’t you caused enough trouble?”

When he finally lifted his gaze again, any hint of gentleness had vanished, replaced entirely by key resolve “Celene are you determined to create trouble again?”
My fingers clenched into his shirt, tears soaking the fabric. He once promised he’d never make me cry, yes every tear I’d shed was caused by him.
Inside the suffocating silence of the car, I slowly calmed down, finally panthing him away and sining up straight
Taking a deep breath, I cleared my aching throat and spoke coldly, “Go see your son if you must, but don’t alloor your personal matters to disrupt our agreed plans. Don’t worry–1 won’t cling to you any longer. Whether you wan to divorce or not, this marriage is already over. I’m not in the habit of picking up trash”
“What if I refuse to give you the money?” Dominic asked coldly.
I met his dark gaze without fear, my eyes still red from tears, yet shining clearly like a mountain after rain. I replied with resolute determination, “Then I’ll jump from this car right now. Perhaps you refuse to help my father, but I don’t need your pity–I don’t need to stay alive.”
Silently, Dominic took out a check, swiftly scribbling down a figure before handing it to me. “Five million now. You’ll get the remaining five million once the divorce is finalized.”
I gave a bitter smirk. “You’re really afraid I won’t divorce you, aren’t you? Relax–a man like you disgusts me so much that even spending another second around you makes me sick. Stop the car.*
The moment Lucas pulled over, I snatched the check and slammed the door shut, walking away without glancing
back.
Finally, my father had a chance.
I immediately cashed the check, settling the hospital bills. After taking care of everything. I hailed a taxi and he ded straight to the address Jordan had given me.
It was a private, high–end cemetery, reserved for those with wealth and power. Even Grandma Kingsford had been buried here. Before entering, I bought a bouquet of her favorite white moon lilies.
Soon, I found the new grave, encircled by blooming plum trees.

Feeling exhausted after standing there awhile, I sat beside Grandma’s grave as if she were still alive quietly stating my thoughts.
“Grandma, I’m so sorry–I couldn’t protect my puppy. But your shameless grandson, Dominic has ensured that the Kingsford lineage continues, so don’t worry about the family line
“Grandma, he’s changed so much. He’s no longer the caring werewolf I once knew. Back then he promised to protect me from every storm. But now, all my pain and suffering come from him for were here you woulti allow him to treat me this way.”
A bitter smile appeared on my face as I remembered her tough character.
